How to get an A* in english?

These are the most important points generally to get an A*

  1. Use analytical phrases to make what you are writing more effective and more concise.
  2. Use a wide range of challenging vocabulary.
  3. Use writing devices to make your piece more interesting and original e.g. Metaphor, Simile
  4. Use short well selected quotes that back up your points.
  5. Use punctuation effectively to make the paragraph flow.

Personally the most important points for me are:

  1. To improve on my punctuation so that I use commas and full stops in the right place, this will hopefully improve my general writing and make my essay’s better quality.
  2. To include paragraphs into my piece as I often forget which results in one big jumble  of words.
  3. To keep increasing my vocabulary so I am able to use extensive and impressive vocabulary.
  4. To keep reading as it gives you many ideas and inspirations for creative writing and essays and it also makes you all round better at English.
